FAQs
What can I do to prep for my appointment?
Welcome! Please arrive to your lash appointment with clean lashes. A lash bath is done before each new set & fill, however, mascara residue can reduce the strength of the bond with the lash adhesive. The cleaner the lashes the better. Be prepared to sit for up to 2 hrs. Make sure to use the bathroom before your appointment.
Do lash extensions ruin my natural lash?
Our lashes have three distinct growth stages. Anagen (growth stage), Telogen (resting stage), and Catagen (transition stage). A properly trained lash artist (like me) will understand the difference between each lash stage and only adhere an extension to natural lashes that can support the added weight. Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. If you choose to remove your lash set, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser due to being accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.
How long does a lash appointment take?
A new set of lash extensions takes 1.5-3 hrs to complete with fills taking half this amount of time. This is based on a few factors such as the amount of natural lash, the desired look, and the type of set chosen. Your lash appointment is meant to be relaxing. I lash in a recliner as to relieve back pressure. A lash appointment is a great chance to catch up on some beauty sleep.
How long do lashes last?
The longevity of your lash set depends on a few factors. Some of my clients experience 6+ weeks of hold. This does not mean that their lashes look as good as when they leave. The first and most important factor is your aftercare. I send you home with an aftercare kit and clear instructions on how to get the most out of your lashes. As your natural lash sheds just like the hair on your head, new lashes replace the shedded lash. This is why it is important to book fills every 2-3 weeks, in order to replace those shedded out extensions with new ones.
Can I get my lashes wet?
ABSOLUTELY!! One more time… ABSOLUTELY!! Lash extension adhesive has come a long way since first being introduced. No longer do we have to avoid getting our extensions wet. There is an initial 12 hr period where steam, sweat and water should be avoided in order to give the adhesive adequate time to cure, but after that, wash away.
